Steam-reforming of natural gas is an industrial well-established process for generation of synthesis gas, a mixture of hydrogen, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. By conversion of carbon monoxide with steam in a high temperature shift reactor additional hydrogen is generated. The process gas is purified by Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA). Thus hydrogen with purity up to 99.999+vol% and capacities up to 10.000 Nm³/h can be supplied.
Hydrogen, as a reactive gas, finds application in many hydrogenation processes, as well as in the metal and electronic industry, in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, in heat treatment processes, in food and beverage industry and recently in polysilicon process for photovoltaic industry.
